10. Season 2, American Horror Story: Asylum, episode 8, “Unholy Night”

Why it’s so frightening: If you love to get into the holiday spirit, “Unholy Night” is not the episode you may want to watch. American Horror Story may be known for its frightening Halloween episodes, we look forward to them each season! But, in Asylum, the show delivered one hell of a Christmas episode! Of course, not in the way the average person may be thinking. This was no typical holiday episode at all! The title “Unholy Night” should say it all. This episode doesn’t have cheer or reindeer, but it does have a Santa!

Everyone loves Santa, right? Well, almost everybody. One character in particular hates everything there is about the Christmas spirit. And no, unfortunately we are not talking about Scrooge.

A character hates the holiday so much that he visits families and murders them. He ends up becoming a patient at the Briarcliff Asylum, but only after a killing over a dozen people. At the asylum he targets Sister Jude, but she has always been known to put up a fight and kills him.

One good thing that does happen in this episode is Kit (Evan Peters) saving Lana (Sarah Paulson) from Dr. Thredson (Zachary Quinto). We also see Grace (Lizzie Brochere) again!
