1428 Elm: I’m curious — has it been hard for you as a woman director?

MP: I went to film school in the 90’s, and I’m finally getting started now –  with my films now. People will waste your time, you know how it is; women need to be persistent, they have to be persistent, and not to take any crap. And I encourage women who want to do this, directing or in another capacity, or whatever they wish to do in life, to be persistent, and don’t take any crap! And don’t let people waste your time.

1428 Elm: Some of your scenes definitely reflected a feminine perspective. And I really liked that.
