Believe It or Not Theories
Of course, we got to thinking at 1428 Elm about what this special news could be and we came up with several possibilities. Before we delve into this fun exercise, we have no inside information and what conclusions we have come to are pure speculation.
Los Angeles, California is the home of the Hollywood Wax Museum . According to Ripley’s, “it is the only wax museum in the country devoted entirely to celebrity figures.” I have been there and it is pretty cool.
Could Bruce Campbell be getting immortalized in wax? Is it out of the realm of reality to think that maybe Ash Williams will be gracing the stage with other notable figures?
Face it, the character is iconic. Campbell played him for almost 4 decades and has now retired from portraying the chainsaw handed hero. This seems plausible and a fitting way to end that chapter in his career.
Another idea that springs to mind revolves around the actor’s quest to be a game show host. Everyone is familiar with Last Fan Standing, the ultimate trivia showdown for geeks to display their popular culture prowess. It is no secret that he would like to partner with a venue or network to do LFS on a regular basis.
What if LFS and Ripley’s teamed up? Since Ripley’s is known for specializing in offbeat attractions perhaps it might play host to the game show at one of its locations in California. You never know…
Remember the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! TV series that ran from 1999 until 2003 featuring Dean Cain? Or maybe you are like me and also remember the Jack Palance version that aired from 1982-1986.
Since revivals and reboots are popular could Bruce be a possible candidate to host a new incarnation? It seems like it could be an interesting gig for the unique actor if it were to happen.
Of course, we will be tuning into the Ripley’s Believe It or Not live stream Sunday evening at 10 p.m. EST to ring in the New Year with Bruce Campbell.
