Bruce Campbell took the Ripley’s Believe It or Not dais this New Year’s Eve to make an awesome announcement. Get ready, fans! 2019 is going to be an exciting year.

Bruce Campbell teased us for days with a simple tweet on his Twitter account telling everyone to “Believe it!” He was referring to the fact that he would be joining Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Times Square in New York City on New Year’s Eve.

For days afterwards, fans were coming up with various theories as to what his exciting announcement would be. Some thought he would be confirming a new movie and the speculations were running high. We even tossed our hat into the ring at 1428 Elm as to what the veteran actor might be doing with the famous haven of the bizarre and the odd.

So, at 10 p.m. EST we tuned into the live stream at ripleys.com. After a few minutes of musical acts and chatter finally Bruce Campbell took the stage.

"“As an actor I’ve always been drawn towards stuff that’s a little more out there, a little more fantastical. As a kid I read the Ripley books. I saw the TV shows. So, I’m here to announce officially, once and for all, just blowing into town to tell you that we’re officially bringing back Ripley as a television show. I’m hosting for the Travel Channel.”"

Now, anyone who has followed Campbell’s career can attest to the fact that he does enjoy offbeat roles and non-traditional projects that his peers might not consider so then who better to host a new incarnation of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for the Travel Channel?

I am happy to say, we called it! That’s right! For those of you that were hoping for more Bruce in 2019 consider your wishes granted.

Campbell will be the face of the brand following in the footsteps of the late, great Jack Palance in the 1980’s and Dean Cain in the 1990’s. This is terrific news for fans who were wanting to see more of the actor after his recent enjoyable return to the small screen as Gary Green in AMC’s Lodge 49. Go to the 38:48 mark to view the Campbell footage.
