My Boyfriend’s Back (1993)

I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid. Even then I loved creepy things. This film is technically a comedy and the concept is pretty awesome. It sucks to crush on someone from afar, especially when she’s the most popular girl in school and you’re a nobody. But what if the opportunity to prove your love for her shows up and WORKS! The only catch is you had to die to get the message across…sorta.

Johnny has been in love with Missy since they were kids. She’s popular, he isn’t and she’s dating grade-A douche nozzle Buck. One day when Johnny is at work, Missy comes in. He finally gets to talk with her only to be interrupted by a robber. In a vie to impress her, he tries to handle the situation but gets shot and dies.

Determined to win Missy over, death can’t even stop him from trying and he crawls from his grave to win her love. It works but he begins to decompose and crave human flesh. As if being a teenager wasn’t difficult enough, this Valentine’s Day horror comedy shows that it can get worse.

This film was directed by Bob Balaban and stars Andrew Lowery, Traci Lind, Danny Zorn and pre-Lost Matthew Fox.
