After a resurrection that rivals all before it, Joe Bob Briggs is back with a show and now a U.S. tour of “How Rednecks Saved Hollywood.”

Joe Bob Briggs has quite a busy season ahead of him. With the recent announcement by Shudder that The Last Drive-In will now be a double feature every Friday night, it looks like we’re getting even more Joe Bob. According to a press release, Briggs is hitting the road on Monday the 11th and heading around the country to share his one-man show, An Evening with Joe Bob Briggs: How Rednecks Saved Hollywood.

If that sounds familiar, we talked about this production previously when he headed to Minneapolis for a one night show. Now, it seems, other parts of the country will get the opportunity to see How Rednecks Saved Hollywood.

His first stop on the tour is SXSW in Austin, TX before he heads to the Loft Cinema in Tuscon, AZ on March 16 (get your tickets here). There are planned stops in Milwaukee, Chattanooga, Jackson, Charlotte, Nashville, Syracuse, Houston, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Williamsburg, Raleigh and more cities to be announced as the tour continues.

From the press release, the show will cover:

"• The identity of the first redneck in history.• The precise date the first redneck arrived in America.• The most sacred redneck cinematic moments.• How Thunder Road, the Whiskey Rebellion, the tight cutoffs worn by Claudia Jennings in Gator Bait, illegal Coors beer, and the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash combined to inspire the greatest movie in the history of the world.• Why the redneck is the scariest monster in all of film history, with visual evidence.• The existential difference between Forrest Gump and Sling Blade.• The reason God loves rednecks."

Not only will the show include all of that, but Joe Bob is sure to bring his wit and wisdom about countless facts that you may not have known before to How Rednecks Saved Hollywood. All of this comes on the heels of four successful marathons and a new show. It would seem that Joe Bob Briggs is back with a vengeance and the horror world couldn’t be happier.

The tour officially starts on March 16th at 7:30pm and The Last Drive-In premiers on Shudder on March 29th. Now that Joe Bob is back, I think we need to make it official that he can never go away again.
