No, I am not suggesting that the actor get a talk show or anything like that. I am referring to his character in the wonderful Dark Horse parody, My Name Is Bruce who just happens to be named, Bruce Campbell.

However, this Campbell is a self-absorbed jerk and womanizer who lives in a dilapidated trailer in the middle of nowhere. When he is not getting drunk with his dog, Sam and Rob, he is on the set of some torturous B-movie shoot like Cave Alien 2.

This doesn’t even remotely sound like the “real” Bruce Campbell so that is what makes it even more humorous. At the end of the movie, he gets attacked by Guan Di, the God of Bean Curd, oh and on a lesser note, the protector of the souls of the departed. So assuming the character survived that ambush, why not put him in a new situation?

While the actor was doing publicity for this picture, he stated that there was a potential for a sequel called, Bruce vs Frankenstein. Originally, the title was called My Name Is Still Bruce.

Well, we never did get that film but it isn’t too late. Much like Ash vs Evil Dead, the concept could easily become a limited series. Put it on the right streaming service and Bruce’s fans would definitely show up. That would be a selling point right there.

Plus, with the success of shows like Santa Clarita Diet and Joe Bob Briggs’ The Last Drive-In, the appetite for horror comedies is alive and kicking. Maybe someday, Bruce will revisit this idea.
