Annabelle Comes Home trailer: Evil is not contained

Gary Dauberman’s directorial debut Annabelle Comes Home promises to bring more chaos and scares. Evil cannot be contained that easily.

It seems like nowadays everything in the film industry has to have a connected universe. That’s not exactly a complaint, but I just wanted to point it out. The horror genre has its connected universes as well and one that keeps expanding is that of The Conjuring, with the latest installment being Annabelle Comes Home.

The third movie from the Annabelle series and seventh overall in The Conjuring universe marks writer’s Gary Dauberman directorial debut – and it looks quite promising. After all, creepy dolls will forever be scary, more so when their power can’t be contained at all, which is exactly what happens in this new story, and a new trailer gives us a hint of the upcoming chaos.

Annabelle Comes Home to Wreak Havoc

Annabelle Comes Home will see Ed and Lorraine Warren’s (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) effort to contain the doll’s evil powers by locking her in a glass case in their artifacts room. Emphasis on “effort”, because Annabelle’s powers go beyond a sacred glass and she manages to awaken evil spirits that will now go after a new target: the Warren’s daughter, Judy (Mckenna Grace) and her babysitters (Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife).

Dauberman is an expert in the world of Annabelle, as he has written all the movies from this trilogy. He shaped this side of The Conjuring Universe, basically. Having him behind the camera this time will be special as we will get to see the movie as he envisioned it when he wrote it. Anyone else finds that exciting?

Here are a couple of bonus facts, Dauberman co-wrote IT along with Chase Palmer and Cary Fukunaga, IT: Chapter Two, and the Swamp Thing TV series along with Mark Verheiden (and he is also executive producing). Quite an expert in the field of horror, don’t you think?
