15 scariest summer horror movies of all-time

11. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010)
Directed by Eli Craig
Misunderstandings stem from both a lack of communication and a preconceived set of biases that label people under specific groups that have been “tailor-made” for them. For Tucker and Dale, these biases have forced them into a box labeling them as creepy, good-for-nothing rednecks despite being relatively harmless and well-meaning.
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is not about killer rednecks terrorizing kids in the woods. At the end of the day, it’s a story about two friends building the perfect summer home.
That all gets thrown a curveball when a group of college students decide to start their summer by camping nearby and when one of them almost drowns and is saved by the two men, a chain of misunderstanding leads to a narrative where Tucker and Dale must prove their innocence as the kids begin to antagonize them. The perfect summer vacation and it’s all ruined by a simple case of miscommunication and social biases taking precedence over logical thinking.
This movie at its core is a comedy, as the level of irrational thinking and acting leads to genuinely hilarious sequences. But amidst the comedy, the horror of being wrongfully accused over something you didn’t do is an absolutely real fear that still runs rampant in America today. What began as a nice summer trip for both parties ends up wielding gruesome results and the reality of misunderstandings bring a whole new level of horror to this otherwise hysterical summer horror flick.
