Child’s Play and the 15 best horror movies coming this summer

6. Child’s Play (June 21)
I think half of the people anticipating this summer horror film can’t wait to see it so they can crap all over it as I don’t think that the world needed a Child’s Play remake. The originals were great the way that they were and Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray can’t really be beaten and yet here we are.
I will be the first to admit my skepticism on this film. The Chucky doll looks…interesting. Like I said, I have my opinions on this new film, but I will of course give this rebooted franchise a chance. I am, however, super excited to hear Mark Hamill will voice Chucky.
He is a fantastic voice actor and if anyone could do it, it would be Mark Hamill. I am a bit confused on the casting of Aubrey Plaza, though, since she is much better as a comedic actor but we can only see.
The difference in this version of Child’s Play is that there is no serial killer spirit, but A.I. turned evil in the form of a doll. Not all films are anticipated because people think it will be good and I definitely have concerns about this new Child’s Play. Regardless, I will be giving this film a chance. You never know, maybe we will be surprised.
