13. Ready or Not (August 23)

Ah, young love. Is there anything better than young love and a new marriage? It is a time when you celebrate your love and right after the marriage you start your new life. When you marry the person you love, you also marry their family, whether that is good or bad news.

In Ready or Not, Grace goes with her new husband to her in-laws’ house for a tradition she is to take part in. Most of the time, traditions mean a meal or a gift or something like that. In this house, tradition means playing a deadly game that has Grace fighting to survive — perhaps they should have just stuck to dating.

We see the lovely Samara Weaving as Grace and we know by now that Weaving has great horror chops. She was fantastic in The Babysitter and I look forward to seeing her in Ready or Not.

It’s hard enough blending yourself into a new family, but when you add in the fact that your new family may or may not crazy murder you, it really puts a damper on your honeymoon. The title sounds like a wicked game of hide and seek. If that’s the case, I think they’re playing it wrong.
