Child’s Play and the 15 best horror movies coming this summer

10. Crawl (July 12)
Global warming, y’all. That stuff is the real deal and it is causing all kinds of crazy weather. Tornadoes, blizzards, droughts and let us not forget hurricanes. As someone who is dealing with that crazy weather personally, I can attest that global warming is the real deal. Why do I go on this rant? There is a movie coming out this summer that deals in the business of hurricanes and what comes after. Sometimes it isn’t the hurricane that’s dangerous, but what lurks and travels with them.
Crawl centers around a young woman and her father who are trapped in their house during a Category 5 hurricane. If surviving the hurricane wasn’t difficult enough, hiding in the rising flood waters are alligators looking for a meal. She must fight for her life and the life of her father against Mother Nature and flesh hungry alligators that invade her home… That sh*t doesn’t happen in Wisconsin…just saying.
There just aren’t enough good and scary beast monster horror movies. Movies like Anaconda, Deep Blue Sea, The Meg and Lake Placid set the bar very high and it is a hard bar to stretch to. I don’t know about you, but I am excited for this summer horror film. It’s more than a disaster film and more than a monster movie.
