15. The Amityville Curse (1990)

Here we start with the weakest of the film that were released following the immense popularity of The Amityville Horror. This film connects itself to the Amityville franchise through the town alone, which means it BARELY squeaks itself into the list as it tags along with the franchise for popularity sake.

The Amityville Curse follows a couple who is looking to buy a house (sounds familiar) and ends up buying a haunted house. It’s not THE house but it’s in the same town. I have to say, if there are two evil houses in Amityville, maybe people shouldn’t live in Amityville. You’d think they would get the hint. Regardless, they buy the house and then proceed to be tormented by the evil baddies that lurk in the home.

This sequel is based on a book by Hans Holzer (a name you will see again) and directed by Tom Berry. It stars Kim Coates, before he joined the Son’s of Anarchy, as Frank, Donna Wightman as Debbie and Helen Hughes as Mrs. Moriarty. This is one to watch for the completionists who feel like they HAVE to watch every movie in a franchise. Other than that, there is a reason why it ends on the bottom of our list.
