11. The Amityville Legacy (2016)

If you thought a haunted dollhouse was a problem, a haunted monkey seems a lot worse and a while lot sillier. You will find that there are a lot of silly haunted things taken from the DeFeo house that, of course, house evil. You also find there’s a lot more silly people because who takes things from a blatantly haunted murder house? A lot people apparently.

Here we have a haunted toy monkey that was taken from the Amityville Horror house and taken to an annual family reunion to be given as a gift. The unlucky receiver has no idea what he is about to get because with the toy monkey comes a curse and a whole bunch of paranormal activity. If that wasn’t bad enough, these bad entities work and succeed in possessing the father of the family, so that’s a problem.

This installment into the franchise was written and directed by Dustin Ferguson and Mike Johnson. The film stars Mark Popejoy as Mark, Julia Farrell as Julia, Jennii Caroline as Jennii, Breana Mitchell as Breana, and Tony Brown as Tony. I suppose it does make it a lot easier when all of your characters share the same name as the actors who play them.
