8. Amityville II: The Possession (1982)

There are some that really like this movie and there are others that really, really hate this film. This happens all the time in Hollywood and especially with horror films.  The first movie makes a lot of money or get a lot of attention and they just HAVE to make a sequel, and usually the sequel is a fraction as scary or not nearly as interesting as the original was. It is seen as easy money.

This film was made three years after the original released and we find ourselves in the very same house that the Lutz family left. The Montelli family moves in and the evil forces that roamed the house before has kicked it up a notch. Not long after moving in, supernatural things begin occurring, the family starts getting violent and *ahem* sexual toward each other and the teenage son becomes fully possessed.

This sequel was written by Tommy Lee Wallace based on the book by Hans Holzer and was directed by Damiono Damiani. It stars James Olsen as Father Adamsky, Burt Young as Anthony Montelli, Rutanya Alda as Delores Montelli, Jack Wagner as Sonny, Diane Franklin as Patricia and Andrew Prine as Father Tom. This was the sequel that began all sequels.
