Netflix: Stranger Things S:3 among the new horror additions for July

Well, July is another month light on new horror/sci-fi/thriller streaming options on Netflix. The biggest news is, of course, the third season of Stranger Things, but let’s see what else Netflix is offering up.

Netflix heats up the month of July with the premiere of the third season of Stranger Things and horror classics like Cloverfield and Scream 3. Check out what else the streaming giant has to offer.

July 1:

Cloverfield – In this found-footage style film, six NYC residents attempt to evade a gigantic monster attacking the city. Cloverfield was filmed in a shaky camera style that prompted critic Roger Ebert to dub it “La Shakily Queasy-Cam.”

Scream 3 – Two years after the events in Scream 2, Sidney is hiding out, and working as a telephone crisis counselor. Meanwhile, actors on the set of the movie-within-a-movie Stab 3 are being killed off one by one. Here is a piece of trivia for film buffs: Scream 3 features an appearance by Roger Corman, the legendary creator of B-movies such as Little Shop of Horrors.

The Book of Eli – In this post-apocalyptic story, Denzel Washington plays Eli, a drifter making his way across America. Along the way, he must fight to protect a mysterious book that he carries with him.

July 4:

Stranger Things Season 3 – Eleven and her friends are back! In season three, it’s summer, and everyone is excited about the brand new Starcourt mall. Of course, evil is afoot. Cary Elwes and Jake Busey join our regular cast of characters.

July 5:

Sicilian Ghost Story – When 13-year-old Giuseppe disappears, 12-year-old Luna decides to find him. To do so, she must go deep into the forest. As you know, that is NEVER a good idea.

July 12:

Kidnapping Stella – A kidnapped young woman is bound in an apartment, and must use her wits to survive.

July 16:

Wynonna Earp Season 3 – Based on the comic series, this Western/horror series tells the story of Wyatt Earp’s great -great -granddaughter, who battles supernatural forces.

July 18:

Secret Obsession – Jennifer is the victim of a violent attack, and comes out of it with amnesia. Soon, she begins to realize that not only does she not remember her life, she is also still in danger.

July 19:

Typewriter – Stephen is a writer who is suffering from writer’s block. While trying his hardest to keep his job at a publishing company, he comes across a strange and unusual typewriter.

July 25:

Another Life Season 1 – In this sci-fi drama series, an astronaut and her crew go on a mission to discover the origins of an alien artifact. While doing so, they have to face dangers they never imagined.
