5. Ed Billik – Ellen

Bruce was only on Ellen DeGeneres’ sitcom from 1996-1997. This was a departure from his normal persona. In this series, he played the straight man to Ellen’s more Lucille Ball like character.

At first, he was perceived as the villain because he was coming into her bookstore as the new manager and firing her friend Joe. To make matters worse, he was also a hunter which animal loving Ellen was vehemently opposed to.

Although he and Ellen had their struggles, she was impressed with the fact that he was a devoted family man. He was the type of guy that would leave work early to catch his 5-year-old daughter singing in her kindergarten concert. If that doesn’t melt your heart, I don’t know what will.
