The Woods is a spooky, witchy kind of story that is very reminiscent of a Robert Wise production, specifically, The Haunting. Set in a New England boarding school for girls, young Heather is sent there after being kicked out of her high school.

Bruce plays her father, Joe. It is Joe’s hope along with his wife, Alice that Heather gets some much-needed discipline. Instead, she learns how to hone her skills as a witch with the help of her weird advisor, Ms. Traverse.

Things take an ugly turn at the idyllic school. Girls start dying. Heather realizes that she may be the next target. While she is going through that hell, Joe gets into a wreck with his wife. Alice ends up dying and he is put into the hospital.

When Heather comes to see him, he can tell that something is going on with his daughter. For his concern, Ms. Traverse puts a spell on him. While he is dealing with that, Heather finds herself back at the sinister school.

Joe ends up breaking out of the hospital to rescue his daughter who is in imminent danger. Not only does he save Heather but he also liberates the other students.
