When will Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark be available on DVD and Blu-Ray?
By Mads Lennon
Scary Stories is the must-see horror movie of the summer and if you’re a fan of the books you’ll want to collect the movie too. When can you buy the DVD?
You’ve got all the books, you’ve seen the movie three times in theaters, now you just need to know when the heck can you buy this film on DVD and Blu-ray!? The good news is, it won’t be that long of a wait! The bad news is, it’s not available to pre-order yet, unfortunately. But you should be able to purchase your copy of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark in just a few short months!
Since the movie was distributed by Lionsgate, we can anticipate that it will take about two-three months for it to release on DVD and Blu-ray. This was the case with previous films Long Shot and Hellboy. That would mean it should be available right after Halloween, sometime in November.

If you didn’t get the chance to watch Scary Stories in theaters, or you’re someone who has never heard of the books before, we’ll give you a quick rundown of what to expect.
The film is adapted from the popular children’s books of the same name written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammel.
The movie version enlisted horror legend, Guillermo del Toro, as one of the writers and producers. He’s part of the reason the monster designs look so incredible. We follow the story of a sleepy small town preparing for Halloween when kids start to go missing.
Why? Because an old storybook has been discovered and slowly, Sarah Bellows, the ghost of the town’s past, is bringing to life hideous creatures to come and stalk various kids in town.
Stella, Ramón, Auggie, and Chuck must work together to put a stop to Sarah’s creepy storytelling before it’s too late.
The movie stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur, Natalie Ganzhorn, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, and Lorraine Toussaint.
