Halloween Kills is shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina this week

Look out Wilmington, Michael Myers is on his way to you! Halloween Kills is set to start filming very soon and the production starts in North Carolina.
Not only is Halloween (2018) getting the sequel treatment, it’s actually getting two. Halloween Kills will be released in 2020 and it will be followed by Halloween Ends in 2021. If you enjoyed Halloween (2018) you should be happy to know that much of the same cast and crew is returning!
The original Laurie Strodes herself, Jamie Lee Curtis, will reprise her role and John Carpenter will be back to compose. Danny McBride, who is doing quite well for himself with his HBO series The Righteous Gemstones scoring a renewal, will return to write and David Gordon Green will be back to direct.
We previously reported that Halloween Kills would begin filming in September. Now we know the movie will officially start production on September 12 in Wilmington, North Carolina, specifically Port City, as reported by WECT News.

Based on the fine reporting by WECT, we know that crews will be shooting “news reporter dialogue” from 4:00-11:00 p.m. Previously, a spokesperson from Blumhouse confirmed they would shoot additional footage in Port City for Halloween Ends too.
Both movies will take place in the new Halloween continuity. The 2018 film ignored all the other movies and labeled itself a direct sequel to the original 1978 film. Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will follow in the new timeline but you will see more original actors returning such as Kyle Richards and Anthony Michael Hall.
