As Travel Channel gears up for its famous Ghostober programming schedule, we got an advanced preview of the new Ghost Adventures mini-series, Serial Killer Spirits. The first episode takes us to Irvington, Indiana and a Victorian cottage owned by Samantha StarBrite.
What happened behind the walls of this abode in the 1800’s was unspeakable. America’s first serial killer, Herman Webster Mudgett more commonly known by his alias, H.H. Holmes, murdered young Howard Pitezel in the house. The depraved murderer carved the boy up and scattered his remains on the property.
Zak and his team attempt to make contact with both Howard and H.H. Holmes to try and put their spirits to rest. Joining them in their venture is Jeff Mudgett, the great-great-grandson of the legendary fiend.
If you are in the mood to watch a disturbing ghost hunt, tune into this series, you won’t be disappointed. Here are 3 chilling reasons why you should be watching Serial Killer Spirits.
3. You Are Fascinated by the Psychology Behind Serial Killers
Yes, this sounds macabre but there is a reason why ghost hunting shows and the ID Channel are popular. It is a well-known fact in the paranormal world that whenever a significant trauma has occurred, there will be powerful residual energy and hauntings.
After exploring the H.H. Holmes Murder House, the mini-series will also investigate John Wayne Gacy. Except they won’t attempt to do it at his former dwelling, Ghost Adventures will travel to the Old Joliet Prison where the killer was incarcerated.
Zak and company will also attempt to reach out to Jake Bird, a murderer who was said to have put a curse on the people who convicted him. Finally, their supernatural quest will lead them to Bountiful, Utah where they will seek answers in a Ritual House that Ted Bundy killed one of his victims in. This particular residence already harbors a dark and malevolent energy because it is a favorite haunt for Satanists.
2. Will the Ghost Adventures Crew Make Contact with the Serial Killers?
Of course, this is definitely another reason to tune into this Travel Channel special. The H.H. Holmes episode definitely has twists and turns. Let’s just say you will be on the edge of your seats.
Will contact be made? Is it possible that the spirits will converse with Zak and the team or will they be elusive and refuse to interact?
What information will come to light? Will we learn the motivations behind their crimes or how they chose their victims?
It is this kind of uncertainty that intrigues viewers and makes them want to join in on the hunt for answers.
1. The Ghost Adventures Team
Let’s face it. This is one of the paranormal productions that jump started this form of entertainment. Zak Bagans is considered one of the preeminent authorities in the field.
His team and their interactions with one another are what drive the show. When they find evidence of spirits, there is always an excitement level that is hard to beat. Even if you are someone who in real life would never enter a haunted house or go traipsing through a graveyard, it is compelling TV.
There is always that great unknown factor. Will they find what they are seeking or will they get more than they bargained for? That is what keeps viewers hooked and ultimately drives them to return each and every week for further exploits.
