The Addams Family: the cast reunites at world premiere
Everything is set for the return of The Addams Family, and the cast reunited at the world premiere a few days ago.
There are many families in the entertainment industry (whether real or fictional) that have become pop culture icons, but one that has a special place in the hearts of many – and that have managed to stay active for decades – is The Addams Family. Because they’re creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky, and who doesn’t love that?
The Addams Family was created by cartoonist Charles Addams and debuted in The New Yorker in 1938. Since then, this one-of-a-kind family has gone through various adaptations, some better and more successful than others.
Now, 21 years after the last Addams Family movie (Addams Family Reunion, which was a direct-to-video movie so it’s totally ok if you don’t remember it), comes a new animated version of Gomez, Morticia, and the rest of the clan.

Simply titled The Addams Family, it’s a 3D computer-animated comedy horror directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. The story follows the Addams as they move to New Jersey and are forced to adapt to the 21st century, but in their very peculiar way.
The family will come across with greedy, arrogant reality TV host Margaux Needler, who isn’t exactly a fan of the Addams. All this while they also prepare for the arrival of their extended family. It’s a lot, but they can handle it – not so sure the others can, though.
The voice cast includes Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Charlize Theron as Morticia, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Allison Janney as Margaux Needler, and Snoop Dogg (yes, that one) as Cousin It. With just a few more days to go before its worldwide release, part of the cast reunited at the world premiere, including Christina Aguilera, who contributed to the soundtrack.
It was an almost complete family reunion, as Oscar Isaac was not present, but it looks like everything else went according to plan – and that purple carpet looks like something the Addams could easily have at their house, if they ever decide to add a bit of color to it (but just a bit!). Now we just wait for the movie to be released so we can formally reunite with the first family of Halloween.
The Addams Family will be out on October 11, so get ready to get your dose of family-friendly (and nostalgic) horror.
