4. The Haunted Mansion (2003)

Disney’s 2003 film, The Haunted Mansion is based on the ride attraction located at multiple Disney parks. The Haunted Mansion tells the story of successful realtors and married couple, Jim and Sara Evers. After being called to check out Gracey Manor, work-obsessive Jim becomes determined to land a deal, even if that means postponing the Evers’ family adventure.

Of course, as the haunted descriptor in the title suggests, the mansion comes with a ghostly presence. But, with Eddie Murphy starring, it’s safe to assume that The Haunted Mansion comes with the perfect dose of humor.

I have a personal appreciation for this film. This is my all-time favorite Disney ride, and re-watching this film served me with so many nostalgic vibes. Plus, there’s a strong possibility that this movie made me lose sleep as a teenager.

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

A Disney spooky film list wouldn’t be considered complete without mention of the always popular The Nightmare Before Christmas. For most, this Tim Burton animated feature is a Disney staple. Do you watch it for Halloween? Do you watch it for Christmas? A lot of fans would argue that The Nightmare Before Christmas is perfect for any occasion.

After becoming bored of his Halloween routine of scaring people, Jack Skellington finds himself stumbling into Christmastown. There, he finds Santa Claus and comes up with the idea of kidnapping the jolly fellow so that he can take over Christmas.

Even those who may not be a fan of the Pumpkin King or Tim Burton films have to admit that the soundtrack (composed by Danny Elfman) is full of catchy tunes.
