10. The Invisible Man

  • Director: Leigh Whannell
  • Starring: Elisabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, and Harriet Dyer

Synopsis: Despite the title, don’t anticipate seeing the familiar invisible man with a trenchcoat and glasses from H.G. Wells in this latest iteration, although it is inspired by that version. Universal is taking another chance on its “Dark Universe” franchise with a smaller project and it looks great based on the first trailer. Elisabeth Moss stars as a woman in an abusive relationship.

One day, her boyfriend commits suicide and leaves behind a will that allows her to get 5 million dollars if she maintains her mental stability. Not long after, some unseen supernatural force begins to torment her. Moss’s character becomes convinced that it is her boyfriend, but no one believes her since he has become an “invisible man.”

Release Date: February 28

9. Army of the Dead

  • Director: Zack Snyder
  • Starring: Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Chris D’Elia, Huma Qureshi, and Garret Dillahunt

Synopsis: Zack Snyder makes his return to the zombie genre with a new horror film slated to hit Netflix sometime next year.

The plot revolves around a group of tough mercenaries who try to plot a high-stakes casino heist in the middle of a zombie outbreak. Army of the Dead was supposed to be a follow-up to Snyder’s 2004 film, Dawn of the Dead. But since Netflix purchased the rights from Warner Brothers it’s not clear if that is still the case.
