6. Fantasy Island

  • Director: Jeff Wadlow
  • Starring: Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Michael Peña, Austin Stowell, Michael Rooker, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, and Portia Doubleday

Synopsis: If the title sounds familiar you might be thinking of the original 1977 television series of the same name. This movie is a horror version of the story. A group of participants travels to an island that promises to grant one of your fantasies, for a price.

The trailer shows Lucy Hale’s character decides she wants to seek revenge on her childhood bully with a holographic version of her, only to realize the real girl is being hurt by her hand. It looks like lots of twisted fun from Blumhouse.

Release Date: February 14

5. Last Night in Soho

  • Director: Edgar Wright
  • Starring: Matt Smith, Anya Taylor-Joy, Terence Stamp, Diana Rigg, and Thomasin McKenzie

Synopsis: Plot details on Edgar Wright’s upcoming psychological horror film have been kept under lock and key. We still don’t know much about the movie except that it will contain time travel of some sort.

Wright spoke with Empire Magazine a little bit about what we might expect from the film.

"“[M]uch of Wright’s movie takes place in the London of the Swinging Sixties; a time period with which his lead character, Thomasin McKenzie’s Eloise, is obsessed and, through a mysterious connection with Taylor-Joy’s character, gets to experience.”"
