6. Ronnie White – Halloween (2007)

The female characters in this franchise must be written as charitable and generous with their time, because most of the male characters are unpleasant ignoramuses that, otherwise, wouldn’t be able to catch a woman’s glance. Why else would Tina Williams be with Michael? Why would Allyson like Cameron?

Virtually every relationship in Haddonfield is questionable — especially Ronnie’s and Deborah Myers’s. William Forsythe’s character is verbally (and perhaps physically) abusive to the Myers’ family, and he doesn’t contribute anything more than hostility.

7. Ray – Halloween (2018)

Toby Huss has one of the weirdest characters in the franchise. Ray’s introduction is an awkward, clumsily written breakfast scene. The rest of the time, he’s rather cold towards Laurie. Perhaps the most annoying thing about Ray is his lack of paternal authority and overall inability to be emotionally available.

There’s a scene wherein Karen is arguing with police officers and Ray’s just off to the side, not doing a thing. Only when Laurie steps in to help does he react. And while his daughter is missing, he’s playing with a yo-yo. You could take his character out of the film and it changes absolutely nothing. Even Dana and Aaron fail to mention him when they bring up Laurie’s “Rocky relationship with your daughter and granddaughter.”

8. Nora – Halloween: Resurrection

Dangertainment is in no stretch of the imagination a competently ran reality show, and one would assume by 2002 everyone’s eyes were glued to a screen, only slightly less than now. Instead, while a cameraman’s being killed in the house, Nora’s shaking her ass making a McDonald’s cafe drink in the garage.

Who knows what she does the rest of the time between then and getting distracted by flirting with Freddie. She and Freddie spent more time set designing the Myers’ house than anything else. For those of you who don’t know, they shot Tyra Banks’s death scene and it’s online.

9. Barry Simms – Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

The trashy Chicago radio host, played by Leo Geter, is based on Howard Stern, who was actually approached to play the role. Going beyond his “shock-jock” personality, Barry proves to be a supercilious and disrespectful guest towards some of Haddonfield’s citizens.

Is that enough to make him annoying? Not necessarily. What seals it is when he tries to take the show to the Strode/Myers house without so much as asking for Tim’s permission. He didn’t have the typical holier-than-thou persona, though. Barry’s just a rancorous, narcissistic tool.

10. Dr. Loomis – Halloween 2 (2009)

Malcolm McDowell’s portrayal of Dr. Loomis is considerably different than Donald Pleasence’s. I like the idea that neither he nor Scout Taylor-Compton was playing carbon copies of beloved characters. A fresh take was certainly warranted and, in a way, Dr. Loomis utilizing the case to get rich is believable.

The problem is that his arc in this sequel is practically just an extended, more obnoxious version of what he did in the remake. He doesn’t show even a hint of regret until the movie’s nearly over; making his death less shocking and unemotional.

To reiterate, I don’t think Tina Williams is as annoying as any of the aforementioned characters. She cared about Jamie and we saw this from the start. Her trying to be funny was a bit much, but she was trying to cheer Jamie up after she had a medical emergency the night before.

It wasn’t really until the third act where the character became annoying, but the willingness to sacrifice herself redeemed a lot of it.
