1. Krampus

What better way to end Thanksgiving than by morphing into the next holiday with a good ‘ol demonic Christmas film on Amazon? For those who are unfamiliar, Krampus is kind of the flip side of Santa, punishing bad children rather than rewarding the good ones.

Young Max still believes in Santa Claus, but his heinous family members don’t make it easy to maintain the Christmas spirit. His cousins mock his letter to Santa, so he tears it up and throws it out the window, which seems to generate a serious blizzard.

The power goes out, and all manner of strange things start to happen. A large, demonic creature (who we suppose is Krampus) chases Max’s sister Beth, crazed gingerbread men and elves attack, and an evil jack-in-the-box clown joins in on the mayhem.

Max’s Grandmother, Omi, grew up in Germany, and tells the story of her family accidentally summoning Krampus, who took all of them except her to hell. At first, no one believes the tale, but as strange things continue to happen, the story begins to sound plausible.

Krampus features Toni Collette as Max’s mom, Adam Scott as Dad, Conchata Ferrell and David Koechner as his Aunt and Uncle, and Emjay Anthony as Max. It’s a wild, crazy, festive ride, and despite the bonkers gingerbread men, the ending packs a big wallop.
