5 Thanksgiving worthy horror movies to stream on Hulu
3. Into the Dark: Pilgrim (2019)
In Into the Dark‘s 2019 Thanksgiving entry, Anna Baker invites a group of pilgrim re-enactors to her home in order to create an authentic Thanksgiving dinner for her family. When the actors refuse to break character, things start to get a little too extreme.
At the beginning of the movie, we quickly learn that there is tension between Anna and her step-daughter, Cody. In fact, it’s obvious to everyone and is mentioned between party-goers that there is an ongoing problem between the two. This is a wave that Pilgrim rides throughout the course of the film.
After wishing on a wishbone that her stepmother’s Thanksgiving shindig falls apart, Cody learns a pivotal lesson: be careful what you wish for. Regardless of their conflict, the family must come together in order to survive.
I never thought that I’d watch a movie that is centered around a pilgrim cult, but that’s exactly what Pilgrim is and I’m adding it to my list of things to be thankful for this year.
Bonus: If you’ve watched other entries in the Into the Dark series, you may recognize a certain face in one of the scenes. Yep! That’s a stuffed Pooka sitting in Tate’s bedroom!
