Keanu, Kristen Stewart and the 5 worst horror performances of all time?
Twilight: Kristen Stewart
Twilight was the first installment in a very successful trilogy of films based on Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling books about a teenage vampire who falls for a mortal. Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) are star-crossed lovers caught between two worlds.
When they first meet the pair are intensely attracted to one another but Edward acts as if he could care less about Bella. In fact, he is downright mean to her. However, after he saves her life in the parking lot at her school with a daring feat of strength, she knows there is more to him than meets the eye.
So, Bella goes on a quest to find out what Edward is and when his secret is revealed, she is not deterred. Of course, there is life threatening danger when other vampires find out about her and in the end, the duo embark on a deep relationship.
While this movie deals with classic horror elements, the fact that it is a romance is somewhat of a deterrent for some fans of the genre. More often than not, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are criticized for their “wooden acting styles.”
Some of the criticism aimed at Stewart is that she created a boring character and was rather expressionless while delivering her lines in a flat and uninspired way. We will admit that perhaps this isn’t in our top 10 films in the genre but evidently it garnered an audience because the franchise grossed $2.5 billion at the box office and that is definitely none too shabby.
