Christopher Garetano is the host and creator of Travel Channel’s Strange World series which explores urban legends and various paranormal phenomenon to get to the truth behind the mysteries. In between working on Season 2 of his show, Garetano has embarked on an exciting journey. Production has begun on his first feature length film in Tampa, Florida.
We were fortunate enough to chat with the talented director who gave us an exclusive first look at his dark sci-fi thriller, IN INK By Andromeda The Great. Garetano began writing the script while on the road with Strange World. The idea behind it was born out of the subject matter that he had delved into in Season 1 of his series.
Inspired by some of his favorite films, Scanners, Blade Runner, Star Man and The Terminator, IN INK tells the story of Andromeda Stevens (played by Mikayla Arrington) who is the daughter of a famous science fiction writer. After her mother’s reputation was ruined and she was declared a paranoid lunatic by the public, Andromeda becomes a recluse.
Believing that she was part of a military experiment where she was infected with a horrific virus, Andromeda sets out to write a manifesto (IN INK) which will continue her mother’s later work. However, she finds herself having to deal with being hunted by police, androids in human skin and brutal government assassins. She goes on the run as her perception of what is real and what isn’t becomes blurred.
According to Garetano, his movie regards, “Conspiracy that’s truth as well as how we should question our own reality in the face of what manipulated sources tell us.” This definitely sounds like a heart pounding, action packed story.
As promised, here is the first still from IN INK.
We cannot wait for more details on this production which should be forthcoming as Christopher plans to release his first teaser in February. In addition to IN INK, fans of the director can look forward to not only Strange World but he has a development deal in the works for several new shows with a major production company in New York!
