With the season finale coming soon, Evil has been heating up. Here are 5 key moments from this week’s episode!

CBS All-Access released the ninth episode of Evil and it’s definitely leading us to an action-packed season finale. Characters from previous episodes make a return and a person from David’s past makes their Evil debut. We also discover more about the assessor’s background! Read on to see all of the key moments from the episode titled Exorcism Part 2!

5. David Acosta has been subpoenaed

Remember Caroline Hopkins from the first exorcism? Well, she’s back! And, she’s pretty upset about her previous treatment.

David Acosta being sued is the ultimate plot-point of this episode. Caroline Hopkins has returned to sue David and the church for mistreating her and causing mental distress. This lawsuit definitely does not look good for David’s future as a priest.

Our assessor heads to Kristen’s office in order to ‘see how similar their stories are’ before the questioning. Kristen refuses to talk; getting their stories ‘straight’ would only make David look bad, especially under oath.

Unfortunately for the shippers of David and Kristen, this puts a huge block on any real tension-filled scenes of the two together. However, we do get a few smiles and looks between the two during questioning.

A lot of information is discovered during the questioning. We find that David has previous charges: possession of cocaine and assault. And that he went to rehab for drug and sex addiction. David says that this is what led him to find God.

Fortunately, after Kristen brings forth the idea that the side-effects from Caroline’s new medication may be to blame for her mental distress, Caroline agrees to settle.
