4. Leland and his ‘as-if’ lessons

Good ol’ Leland is back at it again. Prior to this episode, Leland ‘ran’ into Sebastian; a teenager who’s really bummed after getting rejected. Now, Leland is providing Sebastian with therapy. Or, more like, prepping Sebastian to be his soldier against David Acosta.

Leland convinces Sebastian to go to an all-woman gym with his ‘finger-guns’. Sebastian follows the command and literally uses his fingers to ‘shoot’ random gym-goers. As can be expected, this leads to a lot of strange looks and suspicion.

After undergoing gun-training at the shooting range, Sebastian is told that the gym is no longer a proper target, due to the suspicion he previously caused. He’s then told that his newest target is a mostly woman-dominated prayer circle. The one that David Acosta will be leading.

Sebastian’s tale ends with an accidental suicide. While checking himself out in the mirror and playing with his brand-new arsenal of guns, Sebastian accidentally pulls the trigger. Leland, clearly disappointed and annoyed by the ordeal, is now on an internet-hunt for another man that he can ‘train’.

3. David’s church lawyer is Julia’s sister

We’ve heard tidbits of David’s past, but haven’t met anyone from those days until now. David’s church lawyer is none other than Julia’s sister.

Right away, we can see that Renée is a force to be reckoned with. We discover that  Renée and David have a connection, as they both loved Julia and her loss riddled them with guilt; this is what led them both to the Catholic church.

Renée has a confession to make: she wants more of a connection with David, as she’s always had a crush on him. It appears to be difficult, but David manages to reject her advances. With a look of disappointment, Renée leaves. But, don’t worry! She’ll be back in his office by the end of the episode, letting him know that she’s refusing to leave until he touches her.
