Top 10 lists are very plentiful at the end of each year. So, what we decided to do was compile the best of the best for horror movies and television for 2019.

Top 10 lists are very popular with most entertainment sites. Each year, every writer on staff will usually compile their selections of what they thought were the most memorable movies and televisions shows for the year. What we have decided to do is give our top 10 list of the best lists on the internet.

Top 10 List of Best End of Year Lists for Horror Movies and Television for 2019

IMDb: Top 50 Horror Movies and TV Shows

IMDb is very comprehensive when it comes to compiling lists of compelling entertainment. They have even included some upcoming films to be aware of in 2020.

Their users have ranked the movies and while we don’t necessarily agree with some of the placements, there is no denying that this is pretty thorough and includes some overlooked masterpieces like Midsommar, The Lighthouse and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

We also like the fact that they have recognized older flicks like The Shining and the original Black Christmas as well. If you are looking for some new viewing material over the holiday season, check out their selections at this link.

Rotten Tomatoes: Best Horror Movies of 2019 Ranked by Tomatometer

In order to rank on this particular list, the movies had to have at least 20 reviews. Rotten Tomatoes has put together a fine selection of films ranging from theatrical to streaming releases. So, those fans of indie productions will not be disappointed.

They have included a superhero/horror hybrid with Brightburn. Non mainstream titles like Piercing and I Trapped the Devil are also among the more visible fare such as Doctor Sleep and Crawl. There is definitely something for every taste on this compilation.

Their number one film is a critically acclaimed darling and can be found exclusively on Shudder. To find out if your favorites made the grade, click here.

Ranker: The Best New Horror TV Shows of 2019

Ranker can always be counted on for some interesting listicles. This year is no exception. While other sites prefer to go with series that are tried and true, Molly Gander has gone against the grain and is looking at shows that debuted in 2019.

What makes this type of compilation fun is that fans are asked to vote up their favorites. Gander also shows the ranking on other lists for the newbie series. We are pleased to see that two of our preferred programs (even though they were cancelled), The Passage and Swamp Thing made the cut.

Much like IMDb, they also mention future premieres like Jordan Peele’s upcoming, Lovecraft Country on HBO which will be airing on the network sometime in 2020. Is your show ranked high or low? Select this link to find out!

WatchMojo: Top 10 Best Horror Movies of 2019

With 21.5 million viewers on YouTube, WatchMojo must be doing something right. They are one of the top list producers on the internet. We happen to be big fans of their compilations.

WatchMojo takes a look at the most critically acclaimed and successful productions at the box office. While we wish that some deserving indie films would be on the list, it is always interesting to see what other people think the top-ranking horror blockbusters are.

Ma, Crawl, Doctor Sleep, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, IT: Chapter Two, all of the usual suspects are here. Do you agree with their choices? You can check out what other movies are in their Top 10 here.

IGN: The Best Horror TV Shows of the Last 10 Years

While our Top 10 list deals with the best of 2019, we felt IGN’s effort was too good to pass up since it is a pretty decent retrospective of the horror TV scene for the last decade. Penny Dreadful gets a mention which is deserved. There are also quite a few honorees that have been cancelled too soon in our humble opinions like Hannibal, The Exorcist and Ash vs Evil Dead.

There are even some obscure titles that could spur on a search for new viewing material for some readers like Dead Set, Les Revenants and Junji Ito Collection. For more entries from this creative list click on this link.
