3 things we noticed from the official trailer for A Quiet Place Part II

After months of anticipation, the trailer for A Quiet Place Part II has finally arrived, and there is a lot to take in before the new chapter begins.

Not too long ago, a teaser trailer was released for A Quiet Place Part II. Unfortunately, it was only shown during select screenings of Black Christmas, meaning most people didn’t get to see it. Even if you were one of the lucky ones, it didn’t reveal much.

Finally, Paramount Pictures has released a full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel film. John Krasinski returns as director and writer of the movie. Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds will once again star alongside new cast additions Djimon Hounsou and Cillian Murphy.

The following list is of a few things we noticed watching the trailer.

3. We get to see the monsters in the daylight.

The opening of the trailer shows Evelyn driving a car through a crowded, sunlit area as a giant monster comes crashing down in front of them. We didn’t get to see the Abbott family interacting with the outside world much in the first film.

It’s interesting to see the monsters in their full glory and not under the cloak of darkness. We also get to see how other citizens are impacted by their reign of terror as people run screaming in the background.

2. The movie will expand its focus.

The first film centered around the Abbott family the entire time. Based on the trailer and plot synopsis for the new movie, we’ll get to see what is going on in the rest of the world, or at least the city where they live.

That may or may not be a good thing, as Evelyn is shown tripping a wire and getting snatched up by Cillian Murphy’s new character. Is he an ally or an enemy? The trailer leaves it mostly ambiguous. We also get a quick glimpse at Djimon Hounsou‘, although it’s not clear what role he will play.

1. We’ll get to see how the invasion began.

We mentioned the beginning of the trailer which shows Evelyn driving, well that scene is set during the opening hours of the invasion. We’ll get a look at what the world was like as these beings began to terrorize Earth.

It also appears that the aliens can drive since one was trying to ram a speeding bus into the Abbott’s car. You can also hear the kids calling out for Krasinski’s former character, who died in the first movie. There is a chance we may see him again in the sequence set in the past.
