A Quiet Place 2 hasn’t even been released in theaters yet but director/writer John Krasinski has already begun to think about the franchise’s future.
We’ve still got a few months to go before A Quiet Place: Part II releases in theaters but that hasn’t stopped writer/director John Krasinski from preparing for the future. In a recent interview with Total Film, the accomplished actor discussed the possibility of turning A Quiet Place into a trilogy.
“I set up a couple of tiny little Easter eggs in II that not only explain more about [the first film], but would allow for more mythology,” Krasinski said.
He also said that nothing had yet been discussed with the studio but that he doesn’t intend to milk the franchise for every last dime, either. It’s clear the story is important to him and he wants to be sure it is done right, rather than just to make money.
He went on to explain that he couldn’t make any promises about the franchise’s future, but it is clear that he has a few more ideas up his sleeve. What kind of Easter eggs might he be referring to?

We won’t know for certain until we see the film, but we do know that at least part of the sequel will take place before the creatures attacked. It’s possible that Krasinski may have embedded some hints into those segments of the story so eagle-eyed viewers should make sure to watch closely and see what they can spot.
It would be interesting to see what ideas Krasinski has for the larger “mythology” of the world.
The first movie didn’t tell us much at all about the strange beings that attack by listening for sounds instead of using sight. By the end of the first film, the main characters have figured out a weakness — but little else — about the monstrous beings.
