Tell Me a Story Season 2, Episode 7: 5 Key moments
We’ve passed the season halfway mark in Tell Me a Story and characters are finally starting to collide. Here’s what happened in “Thorns and All!”
In this episode of Tell Me a Story, we start to get to know who Olivia really is, watch as Jackson falls apart, witness some phenomenal character development when it comes to Rebecca, and see characters in different subplots merge together. We’ve compiled a list of five key moments from “Thorns and All!”
Olivia is officially in charge
In the last two episodes of Tell Me a Story, we’ve learned a lot about our ‘not-so-damsel in distress’, Olivia. She’s making sure that Tucker is getting everything he dished out plus more. Even she agrees that he “kidnapped the wrong woman.”
Tucker makes an attempt at flipping the tables again, by causing her to go teary-eyed when he tells her that she’s no killer. However, jokes on him! Our Sleeping Beauty doesn’t seem to mind torturing her kidnapper for answers and revenge.
With Tucker’s phone in Olivia’s hand, a text message goes off from Maddie saying that she’s on the way over. Olivia threatens Tucker and tells him that if he doesn’t end things with Maddie, then she’ll tell her who he really is; from the bodies under the rose-bush to what he did to Brenden. Grudgingly, Tucker does as Olivia says, leaving behind a very distraught Maddie.

Afterward, Olivia confesses that the reason she came back from the woods was because she felt alone, and believed that Tucker was the only one she can relate to. She then tells Tucker that Luke wasn’t the only person that she has killed.
Our episode ends with Olivia following Maddie. What danger will our lawyer Pruitt find herself in?
Simone calls it quits with Jackson
It seems as if our Cinderella and Prince Charming tale is at its end. Simone tells Jackson that the two are too much of a mess; her being an ex-con and him being a drunk. Before walking out of his place, she tells him that she was only using him because that’s what she does.
Jackson clearly doesn’t take this well and returns to a lifestyle of booze and cocaine. Upset, Jackson calls his band and tells him that he won’t be making it to the show, because he’s come down with a bug. Not being believed, Jackson ends up arguing and quitting the band altogether.
Veronica invites Simone to stay at their house
After the death of Cora, Veronica confronts her son, Ron and questions where he was. Derek chimes in, telling his mother that Ron was with him.
We then see Simone being interrogated by none other than Detective Gwen Roberts; the very same detective on the Ashley Rose car-bombing case. Before she gets too far into the questioning, Maddie Pruitt arrives and informs the two that she has taken the case as Simone’s lawyer.
This is the first time that Simone and Maddie has met, and Simone is convinced that Jackson set this up to help her. She tries to decline, however, Maddie informs her that it wasn’t Jackson’s idea.
Veronica then arrives, telling Simone to get into the car. Simone listens, and is then taken to her stepmother’s house. To Ron’s dismay, Veronica invites Simone to live with them, and tells her there’s a spare bedroom. She says that it’s time for them to start being a family, because that’s what Simone’s father would want.
What is Veronica really up to? Has she really had a change of heart or is there something more sinister coming Simone’s way?
An emotional moment between Rebecca and Jackson
A very drunk Jackson arrives on his mother’s doorstep. Regardless of Beau’s attempts to stop him from entering, Jackson makes it into the foyer and starts yelling for Ashley, because he wants to have a sibling jam session.
Rebecca hears the shouts and comes out to kick Jackson out of the house. When he turns to leave, Beau tells him he’ll drive him home, but Rebecca stops him and instead follows her son out. This leads to a very emotional moment between mother and son, and we discover that Jackson blames himself for his father’s drunk-driving incident.
Rebecca manages to get Jackson to give her the keys and not drive intoxicated.
Ashley Rose tells Beau how she feels
When Ashley Rose visited Beau and his father at the hospital in the previous episode, photos were snapped onto onlookers’ phones. Those photos are now plastered all over the internet, including TMZ, with the headline “Who’s Ashley Rose’s mystery man?”
Surprisingly, Rebecca seems to be more supportive of Beau and Ashley Rose; even encouraging her daughter to go help Beau with his job assignment. Unfortunately, Beau declines the offer and heads off without the country musician.
When the episode heads to its end, Ashley Rose actually shows up at Beau’s place, and tells him that she truly does care about him.
