Evil Season 1, Episode 13: 5 Shocking moments
Evil’s first season has come to a close and things have finally connected! Here are five shocking moments from the season finale!
Evil fans, we made it! After watching an entire season that gave us tons of questions and a load of confusion, we finally made it to the season’s finale. “Book 27” answered some of the questions, and gave us even more to ponder until it makes its sophomore season return. Here’s a list of five shocking moments from the finale!
Leland and Sheryl get engaged
After finding out that Sheryl has been lying about her relationship with Leland, Kristen confronts her mother. She then tells Sheryl that she must make a choice: her family or the sociopath fronting as a forensic scientist. This leads to Sheryl saying a teary-eyed goodbye.
However, this isn’t the last we see of Sheryl. After leaving Kristen’s house, she heads to Leland’s to give him ancient documents that she stole from her daughter’s house. We later see her at dinner with, as she calls him, her lover and it’s here that Leland pops the question. Of course, Sheryl says yes but tells him that she wants her family to finally accept him.

Let’s hope that Sheryl figures out how much “her lover” is using her to get to Kristen in the next season.
What’s up with Lexis?
Remember George? Our early season paralysis demon has made his return, only this time it seems that Kristen’s daughter Lexis has seen him too. As usual with Evil, things aren’t always as it seems, and we can’t ever be too sure of what’s real and what’s not.
Throughout different events in the episode, from Lexis answering the door for our fur-clad Satan to a dab of blood appearing on Lexis’ face, we can suspect that something is going on and that something has a link to Kristen’s daughter.
By the conclusion of “Book 27,” we discover that Kristen had a miscarriage, and ended up going to a clinic called RSM Fertility for In-Vitro-Fertilization. Kristen then became pregnant with Lexis.
The one where they exorcise a womb
Our case-to-solve plot in “Book 27” deals with a woman who believes that her son, who’s still in the womb, is possessed. Eleanor is pregnant with a set of twins and states that she can hear the screams inside of her and that her daughter is constantly crying for help.
Later, Eleanor attends church and finds herself on the ground having what appears to be a miscarriage. Once she is rushed to the hospital, the ultrasound shows that only one healthy fetus remains: the son. Her doctor confirms that it was vanishing twin syndrome, meaning that one twin basically absorbed the other.
Our team sets out to do an exorcism, but it ends due to Eleanor going into labor.
Everything links back to RSM Fertility Clinic
The finale of Evil finally connects everything that’s occurred this season. In a stuffed bear, Ben hears the familiar tune from the episode “7 Swans a Singin‘.” He sees that the stuffed animal is labeled with RSM Fertility Clinic’s logo.
David and Ben realize that the clinic’s logo is the same triangular symbol that they’ve been investigating. They also learn that on a map the symbol points to three cities; each city hosting a RSM Fertility Clinic.
David finally pieces it together. Someone is corrupting the eggs in order to poison a generation. Unfortunately, this is the same clinic mentioned above that Kristen used in order to get pregnant with Lexis.
Whodunnit? Orson LeRoux is dead
In our last episode, Orson LeRoux returns to trial and finds himself a free man. In “Book 27,” Orson uses his freedom to work with Leland. While getting her children on the bus, Orson shows up to “make amends.” However, Kristen isn’t fooled and calls the police to report a man watching the girl students.
He later calls Kristen to “apologize” about his fantasies of killing her and snapping the necks of her little girls. Before she has a chance to make a proper recording, Orson hangs up. Ben the Magnificent comes to save the day by changing the locks and installing a security system. Unfortunately, this only goes so far, as Lexis ends up unlocking the door for our furry-Satan.
Kristen returns home to discover the door ajar, Lexis on the ground and a gift basket signed by Orson. She’s had enough, and we soon see her digging for a pick-ax. We never see what happens, but when Kristen arrives to talk to David and Ben, Ben spots blood leaking down her leg.
Kristen soon receives a call telling her that Orson has been bludgeoned, and it’s possible that his wife is the killer.
Finally, in what is the major cliffhanger of the episode, Kristen grabs a cross, only to have it burned into her skin. Does this mean that there is some evil lurking inside our psychologist? Unfortunately, we must wait until Evil season 2 premieres for answers to our burning questions!
