From Norma Bates to Eleven, women have taken over the horror landscape on television. Here are our top 13 favorite female characters.

If you’re a big fan of horror, then you’re familiar with many of the ultimate scream queens and the dynamic women who make up a large component of iconic horror characters.

It’s easy to pick some of the notable final girls like Sidney Prescott and Laurie Strode, but this article is shining light on some of the women in horror who often get neglected: those who star on television.

If you’re a fan of shows like American Horror Story, Bates Motel, Penny Dreadful, and more, then you should definitely find some of your favorite TV female characters on the following list.

13. Sally Malik

Sally Malik is a character that often gets forgotten about because Being Human (U.S.) never became super popular. However, the SYFY series still has its fair share of devoted fans, many of whom still discuss the show today despite it going off the air several years ago.

The character of Sally is equally iconic in both the original U.K. version of the show, and the American version. She is a ghost that has been left behind to haunt her old home and winds up becoming part of the core trio between her vampire pal Aidan and werewolf friend Josh.
