Will Forte and Irish comedian Maeve Higgins star in Cranked Up Films’ new paranormal comedy, Extra Ordinary. Time to conjure up some scary, good laughs.

Will Forte rose to comedic fame as part of the ensemble on NBC’s longest running sketch show, Saturday Night Live. From 2002 until 2010, the actor honed his skills and played many characters during his stint on Lorne Michaels’ production.

During that time, he starred in some high-profile efforts like fellow castmate Tina Fey’s Baby Mama and Bill Hader’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. However, he reached his full potential in Alexander Payne’s wonderful Oscar nominated dramedy, Nebraska, where he played opposite legendary character actor, Bruce Dern.

As Dern’s estranged son, David, we saw Forte’s full range as a performer. What we admire the most about him is that he seems to delight in taking less conventional parts and some even have an otherworldly bent to them like The Last Man on Earth.

The comedian’s latest effort, the paranormal comedy Extra Ordinary is like the love child of Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters and William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. For those of you that crave supernatural horror like The Conjuring series, keep your eye on this film.

Maeve Higgins plays Rose Dooley, a woman who has psychic gifts. She can see dead people and interact with them. However, she suppresses her abilities so that she can live a normal life.

Unfortunately, that is not going to be in the cards for her if washed up former rock star, Christian Winter (played with Vincent Price flamboyance by Will Forte) has his way. Desperate to regain the stardom that he once had; Winter is hellbent on conjuring up a pact with the devil.

He hexes the teenage daughter of Martin Martin causing her to become like Linda Blair in The Exorcist. In dire straits and wanting to rescue his daughter from the clutches of Satan, he turns to Rose for help. Will she be able to save Sarah or will Christian’s dastardly plan succeed?
