Based on Jerusalem’s Lot
Jerusalem’s Lot (the prequel to Salem’s Lot) was featured in the 1978 short story compilation novel, Night Shift. The title of the EPIX series is the name of the main character, Charles Boone’s ancestral home. If you want to learn the secrets of Preacher’s Corners and why evil was attracted to the town, you should enjoy this adaptation.
Set in Maine During the 1850’s
As fans of King’s books know, he is rather fond of his home state of Maine. Most of his works are set there. Chapelwaite is no different. In reality, Halifax, Nova Scotia will stand in for the town when the show starts filming in April.
Adrien Brody Is Cast as Captain Charles Boone
Oscar winner, Adrien Brody will be portraying Charles Boone. After his wife dies, Charles decides to move back to his hometown of Preacher’s Corners with his children. Unfortunately, he will be forced to deal with his troubled past as well as his family’s dark history.
Emily Hampshire Will Portray Rebecca Morgan
For those that enjoy the hit comedy series, Schitt’s Creek, Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd) was recently added to the cast as Rebecca Morgan. Her character is a recent college graduate who returns home to Preacher’s Corners to write a piece for Atlantic Magazine. She has no immediate prospects but when she finds out that Charles has also relocated, she decides to base her story on him and his cursed family. In order to get close to her subject, she takes a position as governess to his children.
