Disney’s famous Haunted Mansion ride has closed for a few days due to “undisclosed reasons.” Could something ghoulish be afoot?

The Haunted Mansion is a very popular attraction at Walt Disney World and several of the other Disney parks around the world. It is a dark ride where guests ride through a “haunted” manor in Omnimover vehicles, referred to as “Doom Buggies.”

Over the years, the Haunted Mansion has been riddled with legends and lore about the strange and eerie occurrences beyond the manor doors. For instance, it is a fact that people used to bring the urns containing the ashes of their loved ones and dump them on the property. For years, it was an urban legend, but in 2018, The Wall Street Journal confirmed it as true.

Since then, many people have wondered if the ghostly characters in the ride are fake, or if there is a real malevolent presence.

Well, this week, WDW News Today reported that Disney World has opted to shut down the Haunted Mansion for a few days. Apparently, the ride has been having several technical malfunctions for the past few nights, so the park decided to close it and try to get it fixed.

However, the exact reasoning for its closure was not given. According to the article, cast members asked about the surprise closing called its outlook “grim.”

Could it be that something spectral and spooky truly is haunting the infamous mansion?

One of the reasons this is so odd is because Disney doesn’t usually close its rides down for more than a few hours at a time — unless there was planned construction or maintenance. To have one of their most popular attractions suddenly be rendered temporarily unusable with no end date in sight is strange, to say the least.
