Terrifier 2 is in production and fans are beyond excited to see the return of Art the Clown. Here are some things that we’re hoping to see in the sequel!

Art the Clown made his violent debut in Damien Leone’s shorts The Ninth Circle and Terrifier (2011).  Yet, it wasn’t until David Howard Thornton took the reigns of our favorite clown in Terrifier (2016) that the film made it on horror fans’ radars. Fans have been impatiently awaiting Terrifier 2, including Darcy the Mail Girl, and we can’t wait for its possible release in October of this year.

For those who are unaware, Terrifier (2016) is a slasher flick starring the silent and murderous Art the Clown. On Halloween night, he takes to the streets to find his next set of victims.

According to the synopsis, Terrifier 2 will take us back to the Halloween setting, where Art is resurrected and must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother. Terrifier 2 will also star someone very dominant in the horror genre, Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp).

While we continue our wait for the sequel, let’s discuss some things that we want to see in Terrifier 2!

More insight on who Art the Clown really is

Art the Clown poses a lot of questions for fans of the film. But for me, the main one would have to be who is he really? One thing that I absolutely love about the maniacal clown is the mystery behind him. We know very little if anything at all.

However, I wouldn’t mind getting some facts from his back story. Is he a demon? Some other supernatural entity? Does he really just like Halloween? Or is there something more to the holiday that makes him want to kill?

Regardless of the information we receive (or don’t), we’ll still enjoy seeing our favorite horror villain running amuck.

Lots of blood and guts

For fans of Terrifier (2016), there’s probably a certain scene that’s been etched in your memory since that first watch. Yes, that’s the one. Hacksaw, anyone?

Art the Clown is no stranger to blood and guts. His kills are extreme and totally ridiculous. With the over-the-top gore, Damien Leone and the crew behind Terrifier definitely puts the fun back into horror.

The big question is, can they top what they’ve already accomplished in Terrifier (2016)? According to Damien Leone:

"Without spoiling all the juicy, gory details, the scene will involve mass casualties and the destruction of its location, BUT it is the context of the scene that truly makes it so original.  We’re aiming to create a scene so shocking and iconic that people will talk about it for years to come. Imagine if Art the Clown was in charge of the prom mayhem in Carrie…meets David Lynch…meets Maniac….just sayin’."

Let’s all cross our fingers that this scene makes our bloody horror dreams come true.

A final girl who will provide a challenge for Art

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge fan of the final girl trope. Give me a woman that makes a challenging opponent for the invincible killer and I’ll be happy. Terrifier (2016) did feature some fantastic female characters. However, the trio of ladies didn’t necessarily put up much of a fight in their battle against Art the Clown.

Give me someone like Laurie Strode or Sidney Prescott. Both final girls are known to stand up and fight back against their killer. With Terrifier 2’s synopsis stating that it centers around a teenage girl and her younger brother, perhaps we’ll see the final girl putting up more of a fight in order to protect her kin.
