The first trailer for Quibi’s upcoming movie When the Street Lights Go On was just released, and it looks like a real treat for viewers who enjoy murder mysteries.

When the Street Lights Go On has been floating around since 2016, when the pilot was screened at Sundance. Though it was supposed to launch as a series on Hulu, it never happened, and Paramount TV shopped it around for awhile before Quibi finally picked it up, rewriting the story and hiring an all new cast.

Chosen Jacobs (It) plays Charlie, a teenager growing up in 1995 suburbia. When popular teen Chrissy is shockingly murdered alongside one of her teachers, her family and her high school friends are affected; particularly Charlie, who found the bodies.

When the Street Lights Go On also features Sophie Thatcher (young Regan in The Exorcist tv series) as Chrissy’s sister Becky. Queen Latifah plays a Police Detective who is investigating the murders, and Nicola Peltz (Bates Motel) plays the doomed Chrissy.

Quibi is a video platform with a twist, and is set to launch on April 6. What’s the twist, you ask? All of its movies and series are specially formatted to view on a phone, and can be watched in either portrait or landscape format.  But the biggest twist is that all of Quibi’s content is broken up into short segments. In fact, “Quibi” is short for “quick bites.”

You can pre-order Quibi on Google Play or Apple’s App Store and receive a 90 day free trial.
