Bruce Campbell will virtually host Ashland Indie Film Fest awards
Bruce Campbell will virtually host the Ashland Independent Film Festival awards in June. Fans will be able to watch the ceremony live online.
Bruce Campbell has happily resided in Ashland, Oregon for over two decades. A favorite son, he has been involved in many community events from hosting last year’s Chicken Splat Contest for Buncom Day, to interviewing state legislators to promote his state’s media production industry and finally, lending his vocal talents to the Britt Music and Arts Festival.
So, its no surprise that the veteran actor has been asked to present the 2020 Ashland Independent Film Festival awards. According to KDRV, the fest was originally scheduled for April but organizers have had to postpone festivities until May. However, instead of holding the affair at a public venue, all activities will be held virtually from May 22 until June 14.
AIFF can be accessed on the Film Festival Flix website, Film Festival Flix TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, iOS and Android. The features will be introduced by their filmmakers and in some cases, there will be live or recorded Q & A sessions after the premieres. According to AIFF’s artistic and executive director, Richard Herskowitz, a virtual opening night party is being planned.
For those that are interested in watching Bruce host the awards ceremony, it will be online on June 14. The actor will be bestowing jury award winners with $10,000 in prize money raised from a Kickstarter campaign that AIFF hosted in the fall of 2019.
On April 30, the full festival program preview will be presented online at the Ashland Film website. If you would like to peruse the program guide, purchase a Festival pass and order tickets, you can do so at the Film Festival Flix site. Passes are free to AIFF members, sponsors and volunteers.
