The Hellraiser reboot moves forward with David Bruckner at the helm. Pinhead returns with new sights to show us.

The Hellraiser reboot has such sights to show us as David Bruckner is named director. According to Deadline, David Goyer, who is producing this venture, was also involved with Bruckner’s feature Night House so it makes sense that he would hire his former colleague.

As it turns out, writers Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski also penned the Night House script. Bruckner is a horror veteran with The Signal, V/H/S “Amateur Night” and two episodes of Creepshow on his resume.

Interesting to note that this project has been in development hell since 2006. Multiple individuals were attached prior to Goyer. In 2007, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury were named as directors and then they departed the film. Pascal Laugier, Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier were also in the mix as well.

At one time, William Fintcher was being considered for the pivotal role of Frank who starts the entire saga by summoning the Cenobites. Currently, the Spy Glass Media Group endeavor is in the pre-production phase.

Last year, there was some talk of bringing the Clive Barker horror fest to the small screen as well in the form of an anthology series. With two potential Hellraiser efforts out there, it will be interesting to see how the industry landscape will have changed once the COVID-19 lockdown has been lifted. Will there be a market for another film franchise?

Also, will Doug Bradley reprise Pinhead or will Paul T. Taylor return? Only time will tell.

Next. The Changeling, The Shining and other films that turn 40 in 2020. dark

Until the reboot comes to fruition, you can stream the original Hellraiser at Tubi, Amazon Prime, You Tube, Google Play, VUDU and iTunes.
