Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th and the original Pet Sematary are just some of the horror films that you can stream in July. Here is your guide to what’s playing.

Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th and the original Pet Sematary are a few of the horror titles that you can find on various streaming services in July. Why not take some “me time” and watch these chilling films?

Freddy vs Jason is a fan favorite slasher where the worlds of two legendary franchises collide. An interesting approach is taken by scriptwriters, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Freddy Krueger has now become a resident of hell.

He’s stuck there because he no longer has power over anyone in Springwood. Krueger is a forgotten boogeyman. What is a serial killer to do?

Well, he resurrects another murderer, Jason Voorhees. Of course, clever Freddy tricks him into thinking that he is his mother, Pamela. The plan he hatches is to have Voorhees knock off some denizens of Elm Street figuring that the fear that is generated from these random crimes will allow him to invade teenagers’ dreams once again. The entire climax occurs at Camp Crystal Lake where an epic showdown occurs between these two titans of terror.

Hard to believe but Friday the 13th turns the big 4-0 this year. Why not celebrate this monumental occasion by revisiting the original film that started it all? Pamela Voorhees seeks revenge for her little boy Jason who drowned during the 1950’s at Camp Crystal Lake because the camp counselors were “frolicking.” Segue to 1979, she is on the rampage again and vowing to make all of the new counselors pay for what they did to her son.

Pet Sematary is the tale of a grieving father who is trying to cope with the death of his young son. Not accepting his boy’s fate, he buries him in an ancient graveyard behind his home. Except, this isn’t an ordinary burial ground. Let’s just say, “Sometimes death is better.”
