The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. the steampunk/western show starring Bruce Campbell gets the retro treatment in JoBlo’s fun, new series, Gone But Not Forgotten.

Bruce Campbell was a familiar face on television during the 1990’s. He got his start on the small screen in the 80’s starring in the Detroit soap opera, Generations. After his less than stellar experience appearing on Knot’s Landing, the actor turned his full attention to movies.

It wasn’t until 1993, that he returned to network fare. This time as the star of Fox’s sci-fi/steampunk/western series, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Campbell played a Harvard educated bounty hunter who was hired by the five largest robber barons in the west to find his father’s killer, John Bly (Billy Drago) and his gang.

On his quest to track down the notorious outlaw, Brisco found himself with a sidekick of sorts in Socrates Poole (Christian Clemenson), the lawyer that hired him. Along the way, he befriended his bounty hunting rival, Lord Bowler (Julius Carry) and found himself falling for the beguiling con artist and saloon singer, Dixie Cousins (Kelly Rutherford). Not to mention the fact that he got to use cool, futuristic gadgets created for him by Professor Wickwire (John Astin).

For those of us that remembered the fabulous Wild Wild West starring Robert Conrad and Ross Martin, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. was like a trip back to the carefree days of childhood. This program had everything going for it and in our opinion, it deserved so much better than just a one season run. So, then why did Fox cancel it?

Enter JoBlo’s new series, Gone But Not Forgotten to answer that question. Written by David Arroyo and narrated by Awfully Good Movies’ Jesse Shade, their current episode does a deep dive into this Bruce Campbell cult favorite.

With plenty of information on how the star landed his gig to behind the scenes tidbits, JoBlo has given diehard television fans a gift. If you enjoy Bruce Campbell’s work and miss Brisco, watch this well-done video.
