Bruce Campbell kicked off his “Keep Your Distance” tour last night in Dixon, Illinois at the Midway Drive-In. During his Q & A, he gave a few updates on Evil Dead Rise and the forthcoming game.

Bruce Campbell is on the road again with his “Keep Your Distance” tour of drive-ins and theaters around the country. Last night, he appeared at the Midway Drive-In in Dixon, Illinois to entertain fans, take photos (socially distanced ones, of course) and present a double feature of Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.

During his Q & A session, the actor was asked by Kristopher Hamilton for an update on Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise and the forthcoming game. As everyone knows, last month, the actor confirmed that the Irish director of The Hole in the Ground would be helming the next installment in Sam Raimi’s popular franchise.

Since then, we found out that the iconic cabin will not be appearing in Lee’s film. Of course, everyone knows that Ash won’t be featured either because Bruce Campbell will be behind the scenes as a producer.

We also know that Jane Levy, in a recent interview with Collider, stated that she won’t be reprising her role of Mia in Cronin’s upcoming feature. So, clearly, Evil Dead Rise is going to be its own entity.

Here is what Campbell had to say regarding the status of the production:

"“Lee’s just written a couple of drafts of a very new, creepy, updated, completely modern ‘of this world’ Evil Dead, that’s not in a cabin in the woods. A very urban setting and we’re just about ready to go looking for money.”"

This is terrific news for everyone that has been craving the return of Deadites to the silver screen. There has been a rumor circulating that Cronin’s version could take place in a hi-rise.

That tidbit was dropped by YouTuber, Jimmy Champane two weeks ago. Knowing that Evil Dead Rise could take place in a city, might make that theory a plausible one.

Campbell went on to discuss the Evil Dead game which has been undergoing quite a few upgrades to accommodate the ever-changing world of technology. The actor revealed that it will be PC based.

For those individuals that have been wishing for Ash vs Evil Dead Season 4? You are in luck. Bruce confirmed the game would pick up where Season 3 left off.

Could the game be released sometime in 2021? Fingers crossed.
