Possessor is Brandon Cronenberg’s second full length feature. This gory, body horror exercise proves that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Possessor is the second full length feature from director, Brandon Cronenberg. Of course, genre fans recognize that familiar last name. Brandon is indeed, David’s son.

In his latest film, Cronenberg proves that he has definitely been influenced by his father’s work. Gore and body horror come easily to him as evidenced in his most recent effort.

Andrea Riseborough (The Grudge) portrays Tasya Vos. She is an agent who works for a shadowy organization that uses a high-tech procedure involving a brain implant.

This is how she is able to infiltrate other people’s bodies and minds. Under her new identity, she can assassinate specific targets for the company that employs her services.

Vos is extremely gifted but that talent has now caused her to change. All of the violence and death has finally caught up to her.

With her very existence and sanity hanging on by a slender thread, her latest assignment turns out to be a life threatening one as she becomes trapped in the mind of Colin Tate (Christopher Abbott). As the two go to war with one another psychically, who will survive?

The trailer will remind horror fans cinematically of David Cronenberg’s Videodrome. Much like his father, Brandon paints a very stylized vision of Tasya losing control.

It is a battle of the psyches that spills out into the physical world which makes Possessor very visceral.
