Into The Unknown with Cliff Simon is a new Travel Channel series that explores swamp monsters, yetis, the New Jersey Devil and other creepy myths.

Into The Unknown is a brand new Travel Channel series starring military veteran, survivalist, adventurer and Stargate SG-1 actor, Cliff Simon. This unique six-part series will find the host searching for the truth to haunting legends and myths in creepy locations across the globe.

Simon utilizes his training to deal with harsh terrain from the deadliest swamp in Louisiana, ancient lava tubes in Mount Shasta to the Mojave Desert. Along the way, he will meet with historians, scientists and shamans to help him navigate the supernatural landscapes.

On the season premiere, Cliff is on the hunt for the flesh eating, shapeshifting Rougarou in bayou country. A witness produces footage of a weird beast while a First Nations chief recounts his terrifying run-in with the mysterious creature.

The host spends the night in the swamp with a GPS tracker to lead him to a burial site. While en route, he manages to find bleached bones in what appears to be a gigantic abandoned nest. Could this be the sign that he has been looking for to prove that the Rougarou is real?

Mount Shasta is the next location for Simon to explore. It is well-known that many hikers go into the area and some don’t return. Into The Unknown resolves to find out what is causing the disappearances.

The remainder of the season will find the actor searching for the Mojave Sandman (a close cousin to the Yeti and Sasquatch), as well as trying to solve the decades old mystery of the Brown Mountain Lights in North Carolina and hunting for the Jersey Devil in the Pine Barrens.
